Strategy of India Against CorruptionInspired by Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption the leaders of the India Against Corruption initiative have made a draft Jan Lokpal Bill. The Jan Lokpal Bill provides for a comprehensive, efficient and politically independent institutions, the Lokpal and the Lokayuktas for investigation of corruption charges against public officials and politicians. The bill also provides for time bound complaint resolver and quick investigation.In March 2011, India Against Corruption sent an open letter to Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh and Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for a CBI probe as recommended by Central government committee into “irregularities in the forest department”, and into the harassment of IFS officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi.In April 2011, Anna Hazare  gave a call from to the nation to press the government for the representation of Jan LokPal bill. In thousands of towns, cities and villages across the length and breadth of the country, people took initiative and formed teams for supporting Annaji’s indefinite fast. Hundreds of people joined Hazare in his fast at office, home, Ramlila Ground Delhi on the 5 April 2011. These people’s mass movement has declared to move on staging fight against corruption.Anna Hazare’s roleIndia Against Corruption Activist Anna Hazare has declared to go on an indefinite fast starting 16 August 2011 to persuade Government of India to introduce and enact the Jan Lokpal Bill in place of the government proposed Lokpal Bill.India Against Corruption Activist Anna Hazare started a “revolution” in India as he began a public fast Friday amongst amazing scenes of celebratory protest that sent an intimidating message to a shell-shocked government.“I solemnly pledge that I would not vote for that party which does not pass Jan Lokpal or Lokayukta Bill drafted by Citizens wherever it is in power- either at center or at state level.”Vote for India PledgePeople behind the movement of India Against Corruption

  • Prashant Bhushan – a social activist who helps people through the higher judicial system.
  • Kumar Vishwas – Noted Poet of India, one of the chief strategists and stage compere of the Anna Hazare fasts at Ramlila Maidan, Rajghat and Jantar-Mantar.
  • Santosh Hegde – Former justice of the Supreme Court Of India, former Solicitor General of India and was Lokayukta for Karnataka State of India from 2006-2011.
  • Medha Patkar
  • Akhil Gogoi – RTI Activist from Assam, a key member in the India Against Corruption movement.
  • Manish Sisodia – Formerly a news producer at Zee News and currently Social Activist, a key member in the India Against Corruption movement.
Political support to India Against CorruptionSeveral political parties have come to support the movement for Jan Lokpal Bill. Political leaders from different parties – Sudhakar Reddy, A B Bardhan, Abani Roy , H D Devegowda  Mysora Reddy and Jayant Chowdhry  signed a joint statement indicating their support to the movement.Other Organizations support to India Against CorruptionThere are thousand’s of social organisations, NGO’s, political parties, student organisations and many lacks of people from across India supporting the anti-corruption campaign led by Anna Hazare. Though the youth of India has been the prominent factor and major participant to the movement. Many youth and student organisations has activetly participated in the campaign. Major student organisation such as Chhatra Bharati, Students’ Federation of India, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has given their support to the movement.
